My name is Gutili Ganambarr, my father is Muwarrra, and my mother is Wanba. My clan is Datiwuy and my homeland is in Gulnga (Rorruwuy).
My mother Wanba taught me to weave, and also my aunt, her sister Nancy Mutilnga. I used to observe them while they’d weave. I think I was around thirteen. They taught me how to pick the pandanas leaves, strip them, also they taught me how to boil the leaves with the natural dyes they’d collect. I like making baskets with handles and bowls. It was in Gulnga, (Rorruwuy), my homeland, when I’d go there for my holidays, that’s when I would learn to weave with gunga.
